Abbey Park Academy runs the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K to Raise Funds for the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service
On Sunday 5 September 2021, Miss Kirkland, Mr Clifford, Mr Pritchard and Nick (Blythe and Effie’s Dad) will be running the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K to raise funds for the Downs Syndrome Training and Support Service in Bingley on behalf on Blythe and Effie-Rose.
The Down Syndrome Training and Support Service is a registered charity run by and for parents and carers of children who have Downs Syndrome. They offer support and a wide range of training for all parents and professionals working and caring for children with Downs Syndrome. Currently they support over 360 families and 200 organisations across health, education and social care, delivering specific training, early intervention and speech and language group sessions.
Throughout the last 3 years, the service has supported both Blythe and Effie with their education and development along with supporting the academy to ensure we provide tailored teaching and learning to suit their needs. The girls brighten up the days of all staff and students in the academy with their happy, smiley natures. Abbey Park Primary Academy would like to give back to this brilliant charity for the fantastic support they offer to both families and schools.
The team have set up a Virgin Giving page to raise sponsorship ahead of the run. They would greatly appreciate any support via the link below:

Miss Kirkland, Mr Clifford, Mr Pritchard and Nick are all in training for the run (and are hoping the weather stays on their side on the big day) so if you see them running please cheer them on.
